Works well.

Wish you could hold up/down to adjust brightness multiple levels, rather then a series of long presses to get to were you want with single steps.

Easy to wire and install, a little difficult to set up because I have a mesh router, but once I bound the IP address, it’s been flawless.

Do I need a hub or bridge to use this Switch?

No. LIFX Switch connects directly to your home Wi-Fi (2.4GHz band) and is controlled through the LIFX app, so there's no separate hub or bridge required.

Does this support Matter?

Yes. LIFX Switch can be updated to support Matter via a free firmware update through the LIFX app, so you can pair it with Matter-compatible platforms like Google Home or Apple Home in addition to the LIFX app. Note that Matter "home and away" access requires a Matter-enabled smart home hub.

Can I install this myself?

The LIFX Switch must be installed in accordance with local electrical rules and codes, and it's recommended this be done by a qualified electrician. A neutral wire is required, and power must be cut off at the breaker before installation or repair.

Will this control my existing non-smart lights, or only LIFX lights?

Both. LIFX Switch lets you control your LIFX lights and non-smart (dumb) lights from one place — either on the wall or in the LIFX app — so you can power individual lights, Groups, or Scenes on and off as you enter or leave a room.

How many lights or bulbs can I run from one Switch channel?

Each Switch channel supports a total load of up to 650W (incandescent) or 210W (LED), and must be protected by a 15-amp circuit breaker. As a rule of thumb, add up the wattage of everything on that circuit and keep it under 650W — for example, about 13 x 50W halogen bulbs.
