Do I need a hub or bridge to use this light?

No. LIFX Everyday Lightstrip connects directly to your home Wi-Fi (2.4GHz band) via the included controller, so there's no separate hub required. Just download the LIFX app to get started.

Does this support Matter?

Yes. This lightstrip is Matter-enabled, so you can pair it with Matter-compatible platforms like Google Home or Apple Home in addition to the LIFX app. Note that Matter "home and away" access requires a Matter-enabled smart home hub.

Can I control it without the app?

Yes. The Everyday Lightstrip comes with a wired physical controller with on/off, brighten, dim, and cycle FX buttons. Each button supports single press, double press, and press-and-hold, so you can assign multiple functions per button — no phone needed for everyday use, though the app unlocks further customization.

Can I mix this with my existing LIFX SuperColor Lightstrip?

No. The Everyday Lightstrip uses different hardware to the SuperColor Lightstrip, so the two aren't compatible with each other — you can't connect or extend one with pieces from the other. Stick with matching Everyday components when adding length.

Can I cut the lightstrip to fit my space?

Yes — cut only at the marked scissor points printed on the strip. Avoid sharp 90°-or-greater bends; if you need a sharp corner, bend at a cut point instead of forcing the strip.

Can I use this outdoors or somewhere damp, like a bathroom?

No. LIFX Everyday Lightstrip is designed for indoor use only, so it should be kept away from outdoor areas, bathrooms, or other damp environments.
