Do I need a hub or bridge to use the lightstrip and bulbs?

No. LIFX Lightstrip and Smart Bulbs connects directly to your home Wi-Fi (2.4GHz band) via the included Wi-Fi controller, so there's no separate hub required. Just download the LIFX app to get started.

Can I cut the lightstrip to fit my space, and how long can I extend it?

Yes — the lightstrip can be cut to length between LED zones, but once cut, that section can't be reconnected or extended further, and cutting the lightstrip will void the warranty, so this should only be done at your own risk. If you'd rather not cut it, you can add length using the LIFX Lightstrip Extension packs and optional extension cables, which also let you route the strip around corners and gaps. In total, it can be extended up to 10m/33' with a maximum load of 30W.

Can I use the Lightstrip and Bulbs outdoors or somewhere damp, like a bathroom?

No. LIFX Lightstrips and Bulbs are designed for indoor use only and isn't suitable for use under dust or moisture, so it should be kept away from outdoor areas, bathrooms, or other damp environments. There is a dedicated range that is suitable for outdoor use.

Which voice assistants does it work with?

All the major ones: Alexa, Google Home, and Siri, right out of the box, no extra setup required.

Can I schedule it to change automatically throughout the day?

Yes. Build routines that shift from cool daylight for focus to warm 1500K light for wind-down, all running automatically once you set them.

How is these different from the LIFX Everyday bulb and Lightstrip?

These are our SuperColor range. SuperColor gives you billions of colors plus the full white spectrum for maximum creative control. Everyday is simplified to tunable white only, for straightforward practical lighting.
