How do I find my Matter code if I've lost the manual?

Your Matter code is unique to your fixture and required after installing and turning on your light. It's printed on your manual, so keep it somewhere safe once you've set up your light. The code can also be found on the fixture itself, so if you've misplaced the manual, check there for the code.

Can I install the LIFX Ceiling in a bathroom or other damp location?

The LIFX Ceiling is rated suitable for damp locations, but it is not suitable for use under direct dust and moisture exposure. Avoid installing it in areas with direct water contact, such as inside a shower enclosure.

Do I need a smart home hub to use the LIFX Ceiling?

No hub is required for standard use — the LIFX Ceiling connects directly to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and is controlled through the LIFX app. A Matter-enabled hub (Google, Apple, or other) is only needed if you want to use Matter's home and away features.

Can I dim my LIFX Ceiling using a regular wall dimmer switch?

We recommend controlling brightness through the LIFX app rather than a physical wall dimmer. Since the fixture connects to Wi-Fi for smart features, using an incompatible wall dimmer may cause flickering or disrupt its network connection. For tactile control at the wall, consider the LIFX Smart Dimmer — it installs in place of your existing switch, offers smooth dimming with a built-in LED brightness indicator, and stays connected to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network for app, voice, and scene control alongside your LIFX Ceiling.

How long will my LIFX Ceiling light last?

The LIFX Ceiling uses high-quality LEDs rated for 25,000 hours of use. With typical daily use of a few hours, that translates to many years of reliable performance before you'd need a replacement.

Can I control my LIFX Ceiling with voice commands?

Yes. Once your LIFX Ceiling is connected to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and set up in the LIFX app, you can control it using voice commands through compatible smart home platforms such as Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Siri. Simply link your LIFX account within your voice assistant's app to get started.
