Light that trains with you
Gyms and studios light their rooms differently for a reason. One tap turns your spare room, garage or living-room floor into whichever of them you need this hour.
Five modes, one room
Pick a session. Watch the room change.
The room is part of the workout
Most home training spaces have exactly one lighting setting: on. Here's what changes when the room has modes instead.
One light bulb, six very different sessions
A single warm bulb in the middle of the ceiling. Too dim to check your form, too cold to stretch under, and nothing about the room ever says a session has started — so your phone ends up being the timer, the music and the distraction.
The room sets itself up before you've warmed up
Bright and even for strength, colour-driven for intervals, warm and low for mobility, near-dark for the last ten minutes. Work turns the room magenta and rest turns it cool blue, so you stop watching a countdown; on cardio the lights ride the beat of whatever's playing, and rhythmic, synchronised light makes the effort itself feel easier.
Bright, cool light makes you feel switched on
Bright, cool light raises alertness and sharpens reaction time — the state you want before a hard set. The reverse is just as useful: dropping to a dim, warm room is the fastest way to signal the effort is over.
One space that switches roles cleanly
Intervals at 6am and a dark room with a breath count at 9pm, on the same floor. Dim, warm light lowers physiological arousal, and a slow four-second fade in and out gives you something to breathe to without an app talking at you — the clear line a gym gives you for free, between not-training and training, and between training and winding down.
