Retrofit downlights use an E26 screw base that drops into your existing recessed can housing, making them the simplest upgrade if you already have recessed lighting installed. Canless downlights wire directly into the ceiling junction box with no housing required, making them the right choice for new builds or any space where no recessed can exists.

LIFX Downlights are available in 4 inch and 6 inch sizes to cover the most common ceiling cutouts. The 5 to 6 inch retrofit is also compatible with existing 5 inch and 6 inch recessed cans. Check your current housing size before ordering — the cutout diameter is usually stamped inside the existing trim ring.
